It is a rare genetic skin disorder that can significantly impact the lives of those who have it. What is Pachyonychia Congenita?  

Pachyonychia congenita is a genetic disease caused by a mutation in 1 out of 5 genes encoding keratin, a protein responsible for the structure and integrity of our skin, hair, and nails. If one parent has this condition, there is a possibility that the child inherits it. Pachyonychia congenita mainly affects the palms, soles, nails, tongue, cheeks, and hair follicles.
