The Healing Legends salve contains frankincense, myrrh, bergamot oil, aloe, chamomile, and lavender. Frankincense essential oil has significant activity against proliferation that could contribute to wound healing. It could reduce the formation of scars or the persistence of wounds (Han et al., 2017). We also infused Soothing Juggernaut with frankincense!
Bergamot is also a major component of Healing Legends. Bergamot oil and its major active components have demonstrated activities against inflammation, immunomodulation, and improved wound healing (Perna et al., 2019).
Chamomile, on the other hand, decreased the weeping wound area and dried the wounds in 14 patients (Glowania et al., 1987). Essential oils and flavonoids from chamomile penetrate deeper skin layers, contributing to its anti-inflammatory activity. We also put chamomile into Waters Mist and Soothing Juggernaut.
A study shows that lavender oil decreased the area of wounds. It also increased the number of fibroblasts, increasing the production of collagen. Moreover, the study suggests that lavender oil increased the number of myofibroblasts, which helps in closing wounds. Both Soothing Juggernaut and Waters Mist have lavender oil, too!
Meanwhile, myrrh extract possesses wound-healing and anti-inflammatory properties. In a study on rats, myrrh improved the contraction of wounds and the restoration of hair and blood vessels in the wounded area (Suliman et al., 2022).
Healing Legends also contains aloe vera, which increases collagen, promoting wound healing. Aloe vera is also 99% water, so it can moisturize the skin while helping it heal. Sparkling Rain Waters Mist and Soothing Juggernaut also have aloe vera in their formulation!
