Our hands are hard-working tools that we use in almost everything: writing, typing, cooking, cleaning, working, and so much more. However, this daily hard work and the environment can take a toll on them, leading to a very common problem—dry and cracked hands. When we leave it untreated, this can get worse, turning handshakes into painful undertakings and reducing our hands’ efficiency. Living with dry, cracked hands can be uncomfortable and frustrating. Trial and error with many lotions and creams can often leave you looking for relief. Yet, with CANhaveTODAY, you’re giving your hands nature’s powerful gifts.
Read moreTag: topical skin treatment
Applying topical skin treatment is the most direct and easiest way to reduce the effects or cure skin problems. We use moisturizing creams and emollients for dry skin. We also use topical antibacterials and antifungals for superficial infections and topical corticosteroids to reduce inflammation. But these treatments have downsides.
Commercial topical skin treatment products contain fragrances that can cause skin problems (Steinemann, 2016). Regular application of moisturizers with fragrances or preservatives can cause contact dermatitis (Mawazi et al., 2022).
Meanwhile, Bandyopadhyay (2021) stated that topical antibacterials have agents linked to contact dermatitis. There are also other concerns like impaired wound healing, bacterial resistance, systemic absorption, and toxicity. Topical antifungals also have negative effects, including contact dermatitis, dry skin, rashes, and urticaria (McKeny et al., 2022).
Topical corticosteroids also have adverse effects that can be local or systemic (Gabros et al., 2022). Its local effects include skin thinning, purpura, red striae, skin fragility, and impaired wound healing (Liu et al., 2013).
Therefore, while these topical skin treatments provide solutions to skin problems, they have side effects that may require further treatment. So, what should we use? That’s where natural skincare comes into play.
Natural skin care comes in different types and consists of extracts and oils from sources like plant material. Many research studies prove the effectiveness of natural topical skin treatments in taking care of the skin, like having activities against free radicals and microbes (Ribeiro et al., 2015).
CANhaveTODAY has four topical skin treatment products to help with skin problems like bacterial and fungal infections, acne, dry skin, and wound healing. We have Soothing Juggernaut, Waters Mist, Healing Legends, and Sparkling Rain. Learn more about our products, their ingredients, and their properties on our blog!

Read moreUnderstanding dry vs dehydrated skin
A common misunderstanding that exists is the confusion between dry vs dehydrated skin. Although they sound similar and appear almost the same at times, these two conditions have differing causes, symptoms, and treatments.
Dry skin, a skin type, is characterized by a lack of natural oils, or sebum, which leads to a deficiency of lipids needed to retain moisture and build a protective shield against external influences. Dry skin typically appears scaly and flaky.
Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, is a temporary condition caused by a lack of moisture in the skin that is caused by damage to the skin barrier. If you have dehydrated skin, you will notice that the skin will return back to normal more slowly after pinching.
Treating dry skin primarily involves sealing in the moisture in the skin. This includes using a fragrance-free cleanser, investing in a rich moisturizer or an oil-based cream to hydrate the skin, and using products that contain ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil.
Tackling dehydrated skin means increasing its water content. You can achieve this by regularly drinking adequate amounts of water, using products with hydrating ingredients like aloe vera, and limiting exposure to drying factors like air conditioning and central heating.
CANhaveTODAY showcases the abilities of essential oils in skin care. Their soothing, moisturizing, and healing properties work together to enhance the health and comfort of both dry and dehydrated skin. Read moreHow long does ringworm take to heal?
Red, round, and itchy, ringworm is not something you want to see, feel, or have on your skin. Despite its name, ringworm is not a worm. It is a fungus that is responsible for the infection, which is also known as tinea corporis.
Ringworm presents as a round (ring), often itchy rash with a reddish border and pale center. It has a scaly texture, may be flat, may have pus, and can be alone, many, or overlapping. Its margins progressively spread, like a worm crawling. So, its name comes from its appearance, not from its causative agent! CANhaveTODAY’s products featuring essential oil blends can potentially offer relief if you’re struggling with ringworm itchiness.
